El Lugar del Té & Chocolate no es un café o restaurante tradicional pero si un Centro de Visitantes donde se procesan productos naturales a base de plantas cultivadas en la Estación de Investigación Botánica Copán 2012 en los cerros más empinados y erosionados en el área. Desde la terraza usted podrá apreciar de cerca la grave situación que enfrenta todo el Mundo Maya – la degradación y la erosión de suelos, junto con los métodos innovadores que se están utilizando para regenerar el paisaje y ayudar a mitigar la pobreza y los problemas nutricionales en la zona. El Lugar del Té & Chocolate brinda una experiencia única fomentando una actitud positiva y saludable para todos los que visitan Copán – un puente entre el pasado y un mejor futuro.

The Tea & Chocolate Place is located in a peaceful, garden-like setting on the outskirts of Copán Ruinas (walk or take a TucTuc ride from the village center), where you can enjoy a healthful tea or chocolate beverage (along with a traditional local snack) while watching the sun go down. The Tea & Chocolate Place is not a traditional coffee shop nor restaurant but a Visitor Center / state-of-the art showcase for natural herbal products made only from plants grown at the nearby Copán 2012 Experimental Botanical Research Station. From a breezy open veranda you will appreciate up close the dire situation that faces the entire Maya World—erosion and land degradation, along with the innovative methods that are being used to regenerate the landscape and help mitigate poverty and nutritional issues in the area..
